When your child is going through the toddler and preschool stages, story time is practically a must! This is your chance to boost your child’s literacy skills while engaging their endless curiosity. Meanwhile, it’s the perfect way for you to get out of the house so you can talk to actual, human people over the age of 3. If you have been considering adding it to your regular schedule, I would love to tell you about the Jacksonville Library story time so you can make up your mind! As a Jacksonville family photographer, I adore working alongside parents to help them make memories. Here’s why I always recommend this spot!

About the Jacksonville Library Story Time
303 N. Laura St, Jacksonville, Florida 32202
Jacksonville Public Library is dedicated to building up readers of all ages. They are constantly looking at how they can boost the community, whether they are providing free programs for families or offering a Special Needs Library specifically made for those with disabilities. With a massive primary location as well as 20 regional branch libraries, you can always find your next favorite adventure!

The Jacksonville Library Story Time Experience
With the Jacksonville Public Library, your baby can start getting the benefits from their story time programs during the first weeks of their lives. Their Early Literacy and Learning classes were created for kids ages 0-5. These programs focus on increasing kindergarten readiness while also boosting your child’s development. Each session is going to start out by reading a story together before it’s time to really interact with it. Your child will then be able to dance to music, sing songs, and make crafts that will help the lessons stick!
If your child has sensory sensitivities, the library has a program just for them! They offer a Sensory Friendly Storytime made for kids ages 2-5. This is going to provide a more intimate environment where they can engage with the stories without ever feeling overwhelmed. The librarians will also use supportive elements to ensure your child has the best experience each time you drop in! Because attendance is limited, they do require you to register in advance.

Specialty
The fun doesn’t have to stop once your child enters elementary! The Jacksonville Library Story Time has programs created for all ages. School-aged kids will be able to stop in for sessions that let them dive into STEAM or hone in on their art skills. They also have a family program called Turn Up for Tech that allows everybody ages 5 and up to learn everything about topics like robotics, animation, circuits, and coding.
